First things first, XIII is such a great band with a unique style I love so much and I very much suggest you check them out! (and plus, they got lots of lore to decode) Within their small community I find this album goes underappreciated and gets overshadowed by Asylum (great album but I think there's definitely more to the band that just that album) Every track is eeire, heavy, and emotional. This album gives me a feeling that I've been looking for in music today. They're on Spotify, Bandcamp, Youtube and probably more, definitely worth checking out!
Ascendancy was my first album I've listened to by Trivium, after the build up of 'The End of Everything', Rain is the perfect opening to Ascendancy. It's so gorgeously heavy, alongside it's hard-hitting lyrics. Rain had me hooked on Trivium and specifically this album. To me, this song is absolutely unskippable.
